Elkader Chamber meeting

Minutes were approved with the following correction: Coupons on the Chamber website were ready at the end of September, not the end of the year.

Old Business

Report on Red Hat Ladies Day last Friday
There were 39 attendees. The ladies were given coupons for area businesses and disposable cameras at registration; tea was served for the group at the Carter House museum. Several businesses reported a very good turnout.

Note from Iowa Geocachers
189 attended. The office received a note of thanks from the group.

Flags arrived
Four replacement American flags have arrived.

Advertising in Country Register
The Chamber will have two ads - one is for Elkader's December 3 celebration only. The other is for the marketing committee's calendar of events.

New Business
Elkader's Holiday Celebration is on December 3.

Membership recruitment/renewal letters.
Letters will sent at the beginning of December.

Holiday Lights, Magical Nights in Decorah.
Ruhser moved to donate $100 to the event. Rentschler seconded. The motion passed.

There was a discussion on whether to take a stance on the hotel/motel tax on the ballot in November.

Correspondence & Office
Request to close office on Monday, November 28. Rentschler moved, Ruhser seconded. The motion passed.
