Elkader Chamber meeting

Minutes of the last minute were approved.

Treasurer's report.

Harstad and Wright attended a joint meeting between board members of Elkader Chamber, Main Street, the Marketing Committee, and Elkader Development Corporation. The Marketing Committee would like to oversee the website and brochure for Elkader. Each organization would contribute to the Marketing Committee. The Chamber's responsibility would be toward seeing that its members were represented.

Chamber's proposal: As a compromise, non-members will once again be listed, with phone numbers as contact information. Main Street members will be indicated by a logo. The Chamber will continue to produce the brochure that includes Chamber members, although the Chamber would be willing to contribute to a joint publication with Main Street and EDC. Claire Wright's time to maintain non-chamber businesses listings should be compensated by Elkader Marketing Committee.

Durbin moved to submit this plan to the other organizations. Klink seconded. The motion carried. Bruening will bring the proposal to Roger Thomas.

A Welcome for Camp Powersports, a new business in Elkader. Durbin will contact Bridget and offer complimentary Chamber membership for the remainder of 2010.

Klink moved to allocate $100 to hire Jane Meyer as a DJ for Sidewalk Sales. Durbin seconded. The motion was approved.

The Chamber will send bids for catering the golf tournament to caterers who are Chamber members.
